What is National Honor Society ?
A.J. Dimond High School 's Kokogiak Chapter is one of hundreds of divisions of the national organization. Honor Society serves a number of purposes, primarily the recognition of scholastic achievement, leadership, and an outstanding personal character.
Our Kokogiak Chapter promotes students' close involvement with our school as well as the surrounding community. In the past, we have volunteered at Trick or Treat Town to help give kids a fun and safe place for Halloween, helped clean up Campbell Creek, tutored our peers in all subjects, and donated our time to various other organized functions.
Out goal is to provide a base of support to encourage continued academic accomplishment and personal character growth. In addition, the National Honor Society is a place where strongly encourage our members to make the organization what they want it to be. We are adamant that our members provide input because it is our club and we have all earned the right to be here. Thus, it is the members that determine how great the National Honor Society will be.
Eligibility requirements
Entrance requirements for the Dimond High Chapter of National Honor Society:
• A 3.5 or higher GPA for three consecutive semesters. A 3.5 cumulative GPA does not fulfill this requirement.
• No suspensions or similar disciplinary actions on your high school record.
• Active* membership in at least one service-related Dimond club.
* Active membership in a club requires that the person be on the club roster, have attended three-fourths of all the meetings throughout the year, and has already participated in at least half of the club activities. We understand that each club is different and some do not follow this scale. In that case, we have individual club presidents and/or sponsors of the club determine what they would consider “active” membership.
